I have been doing yoga since 2016. I discovered yoga during a road trip in Asia. I was on a retreat in Nepal and since then yoga has been a part of my daily life.
What really fascinates me is how I feel when I move my body with awareness. It offers freedom to my body and my mind. I practice yoga at home or early in the morning by the ocean. I practice all the time, but I don't get on the mat if I'm not feeling it. I try very hard to respect my body and my needs, even if sometimes I don't want to stop!
I didn't realize it at first, but yeah. It has completely changed my outlook on life. I approach some thorny issues with more calm by taking a step back before I decide. Like everyone else though, I have bad days and it's okay :)
In the beginning, I posted fashion content. After my yoga practice took more space in my life, I decided to share this part of my life as well. By now, my interest in yoga outweighed my interest in fashion. People seemed to like the yoga poses I shared, so I told myself maybe I should focus on that.
I have developed these interests thanks to various travels and through the people close to me. I try to be a better version of myself every day, not only for myself but also for the environment. Eating vegan, supporting women or even caring for the earth is in something that is important to me every day.
I'm in the process of training to become a yoga teacher. So far I share my yoga practice (yoga flows and instructions for poses I like) on my YouTube channel.
Yes! I already have a lot of plans, but I think it will take me a while to achieve all these dreams and goals.
My New Year's resolution for 2019, after watching a few documentaries about meat farms, was to become a vegetarian. Animal health was definitely my first motivation to stop eating meat. My sister was already vegan, so I was already aware of the issue without being aware of the positive health effects of a vegan diet. One day I also decided to stop eating dairy products and decided to go vegan in the future. Because of this, I learned daily how to eat better and especially took advice from my sister and the vegan communities on Facebook. There are a lot of books and information on the internet on how to adopt a proper vegan diet.
"Be kind to yourself and to others" or "Don't do to others what you wouldn't want done to yourself". A bit cliché maybe, but it makes sense to me :)
I wish to stay in alignment with myself and my values, and I wish to bring positivity into other people's lives. That is the most important thing for me. I want the people around me to feel good and safe and healthy.
I hope that everyone finds inner peace through the practice of yoga or something else. Love yourself, accept to be sad or tired sometimes, enjoy every moment, even the simple things! Do not forget to live in the present!
