Clementine ( clemeyoga ) has shared with us in a written message why she is fascinated by how positively yoga can change people's lives and why she too found her way back to inner peace through yoga.
Dear Clementine, how did you come across yoga and what motivated you to start doing it?
Yoga came into my life at a time when I really needed it. I had moved to Switzerland and integration wasn't easy. I felt very unhappy, and in the new year I lost a loved one, so finding my way back up was very difficult.
One day I decided to make a change to feel better. I started trying new activities and stumbled upon a recommended YouTube video about Yin Yoga. I gave it a try and was captivated by the Yin Yoga class! I found the class challenging, not only because it focused on shared flexibility, but the feeling I had afterward was simply fantastic! I felt at peace, calm, and happy. I loved it so much that I continued with the course and started a daily morning yoga practice in January. Every day I got up an hour earlier to practice. Despite this, I've had much more energy ever since and find more peace in my daily life. I also feel connected to the present moment again and enjoy the little things in my daily life much more. Since then, I've also become more aware of the beauty of the little things around me.
I am grateful that I found yoga and can now share this passion with other people.
Have you already completed any yoga school or course offerings?
Yes, in 2019 I completed the 200-hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) at Blooming Lotus Yoga in Bali.
How do you design your perfect yoga class?
In every practice, I begin by sitting cross-legged on my mat and taking a moment to meditate and focus on my breath. While flowing, I like to listen to music, but I also love the complete silence where I can simply listen to and follow my breath as I move. Sometimes I also use scented or unscented candles to enhance my practice. I enjoy the warm and cozy atmosphere this creates in my yoga space.
What fascinates you most about yoga and how do you practice it in everyday life?
I'm fascinated by how it can change people's lives so positively. Yoga has helped me return to inner peace and rediscover the joy of living. It has helped me return to the present moment and appreciate the little things in life again.
Furthermore, yoga is a true journey, guiding us on a path of growth, where we learn to love and trust, as well as to listen to our bodies. My personal practice has taught me so much along the way. Now I try to practice yoga and meditation daily, because the effects are incredible! If you also embrace yoga, you will discover the amazing and lasting positive effects it brings.
Has yoga changed your outlook on life, your appearance, or your well-being?
Yoga has definitely changed my outlook on life. Back in 2016, I never would have thought that yoga could help me find my way back up and cope with the loss of my loved one. I will be grateful for the positive outlook I have today for the rest of my life.
Why do you think yoga is experiencing such a boom right now?
I think yoga is so popular because everyone can find something in it. Whether you want to deepen your spiritual path, lose weight/increase flexibility, or become stronger. Many also find inner peace and balance through the practice, which helps them cope better with difficult events and reconnect with themselves.
Whatever your current reason for starting yoga, you will discover so much more along the way!

What forms of yoga do you practice?
I practice Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.
Do you also teach yoga classes yourself?
So far, I teach my mother and other friends French, and my colleagues English. However, I haven't yet found a studio where I can regularly teach yoga classes, but I hope to find one soon!
We saw on your Instagram channel that you enjoy reading. What's your favorite book and why?
One of the best self-help books I've ever read is "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Erold. In it, he presents the Miracle Morning: a morning routine that completely transformed his life and, subsequently, the lives of many others. It's a small book that's truly worth reading! I've been practicing the Miracle Morning for about two years now.
What values do you want to convey to your followers on Instagram?
I want to share positivity and love with them, inspire them through my texts and captions, give them tips for self-development, and encourage them to become a better version of themselves!
Is there a motto you live by that you would like to share with us?
I don't have a specific motto in life, but I have various quotes that inspire me, such as "Nothing is impossible" / "Everything starts in your mind." / "You don't have to be perfect to be amazing," and many more, which I also like to share on my Instagram channel.
What do you wish for in the next 10 years?
That's a good question. I'd love to start a family, travel more, and teach yoga. This year, my goal is to teach regularly and deepen my knowledge, perhaps even opening my own studio soon. I'd also like to organize a mini-retreat in the Swiss mountains this summer so I can teach outdoors regularly during the summer months.
Of course, I want to continue inspiring people and spreading positive vibes on my Instagram.

Why do you particularly recommend starting yoga in the current situation of society?
I recommend trying it out in different classes. There are so many different styles of yoga, so it's important to take your time to see what you like best. After that, you'll need consistent self-discipline, but don't focus on a final goal; instead, enjoy the process and everything you learn along the way.
What are your favorite LUVIYO yoga mat designs?
I especially love the Cube yoga mat because of the colors and the blue gradient. However, I also really like the white marble yoga mat!
