LUVIYO is at its core a brand by women, with women, for women. The launch of our first loungewear collection for women and International Women's Day on March 8, 2022, are the perfect opportunity to emphasize the importance of "women's empowerment" to our community. We want to encourage every single woman to stand up for herself, take control of her life, and follow her dreams!

A special day as a symbol of equality between men and women
Since 1911, International Women's Day has been an important symbol of the ongoing effort to achieve gender equality. The fight for equal rights was hard-won, and numerous setbacks had to be endured, especially during the Nazi era. Only later were women able to participate politically and ensure better educational opportunities. Earning their own money was a huge step towards greater self-determination.
Strengthening autonomy as an important goal
In many countries, girls and women still face widespread discrimination. They live in dependency and are frequently subjected to abuse and violence. Forced marriage, human trafficking, and forced prostitution are also commonplace. It is therefore all the more important that people and organizations worldwide continue to stand in solidarity for a self-determined and happy life for women. Everyone can contribute.

Creating new structures for sustainable change
One example of strong commitment in this area is actress Emma Watson (“Hermione” from Harry Potter). Since 2014, she has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women’s solidarity movement “HeForShe”: “Women feel like they need permission to do anything. We have to change that.”
Watson is passionate about ensuring that all people have equal opportunities for self-realization in life. She calls on men to work together with women to create a fair world and advance gender equality. She has already gained numerous important ambassadors for the project. Sustainable change is only possible when a shift in thinking occurs in society and politics.
Social and economic status
Even in Germany, women are still disadvantaged:
- One in three women/girls will be a victim of physical or sexual violence in her lifetime, according to the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
- The multiple burdens of work, household chores and childcare ("care work") are considerably higher for women than for men.
- During the Corona crisis, mothers are reducing their working hours more often than fathers, increasing economic dependence.
- Part-time or mini-jobs with low pension provisions disproportionately affect women in old age.
- Unfair pay: on average, women earn 19 percent less for the same work and qualifications.
- Only slow progress in female leadership positions (2019: 29%)
Women must continue to vigorously advocate for their interests and rights in various areas. With certain strategies, they can do a great deal to lead self-determined and happy lives.
Mutual support – networking
Exchanging ideas and networking is a great help.
Over time, a supportive network grows among colleagues, mothers, friends, and advisors. Questions and problems are easier to resolve, and friendly and helpful connections are formed. True to the motto "Together we are strong."
Supporting each other in business, looking after the children, talking about intimate topics, laughing together, receiving a compliment – all of this not only helps you progress, but also promotes your mental health.
Furthermore, women's networks exist in a wide variety of industries and sectors, as associations or on Facebook and other platforms.

Women's empowerment means something like "self-empowerment" and "empowerment." If we want to lead a free, self-determined life, we must stand up for it and take action.
We face demands at every stage of life: education, career, moving, building a house, raising children, caring for elderly parents. In principle, we never have time unless we make it. With all these tasks and caring for others, we mustn't lose ourselves in the process.
It seems to be in our genes to give more than we take. To live happily in the long run, we need to value ourselves ("self-love"), recognize our true selves, and then step out of our comfort zone and dare to try new things.
Building self-confidence
Why do we still not realize our dreams, or why do we feel guilty about it? Stereotypes about our role, upbringing, and unconscious beliefs are deeply ingrained in us. Yet it's so important to live up to our potential and use our abilities.
You think you can't manage to change course? Perhaps it just needs a little more time. Consider what steps are necessary. Where can you get support?
The greatest journey to a self-determined and happy life is the one to yourself.
Discovering strengths and interests
- What brings you the most joy?
- Where would you like to get involved?
- What are your strengths, what are your talents?
- What would you like to implement if you had the time?
Listen to your inner voice. You shouldn't compare yourself to others or do things based on their expectations. A coach can support you in finding your own path.

Pursuing goals
- What goal/thing is very important to you?
- What can you eliminate to gain the time for it?
Write down the pros and cons of each goal. This will help you focus. Even if it's difficult, you have to let go of things to be free for the new path. Everything will fall into place step by step if you wholeheartedly commit to it.
Vision Board
A vision board is a creative way to visualize your wishes and intentions. As you let your thoughts flow freely and design it with colors and materials, you connect deeply with yourself. Surprising things emerge that will help you grow in your personal development.
You'll gain clarity about what you want to focus on and integrate into your daily life in the near future. Or you can visualize an upcoming goal and present it in your own personal way. A vision board keeps your goal constantly in sight.
Your vision is the beginning of change – the starting point for your journey to a self-determined and happy life.

Let yourself be motivated and inspired by daily quotes, women, tasks, and stories on Instagram at @luviyo! We want to bring our community closer together to encourage a community of amazing women to achieve their dreams.
